On this day, we had a new meeting with our PA 103 instructor, Sir John Lester Baroro. At the start of our class, he provided us with a Wi-Fi name and its password. At first, we were wondering what we were going to do and why Sir Baroro gave us the Wi-Fi information. Then we were amazed when we found out that it was actually his own Wi-Fi router. It did not have internet connection, but it was not useless because it could be used for something more.
Sir Baroro introduced his plan on how we will be taking our exams in the future. Since our course also tackles ICT, he showed us how we can use a no-load Wi-Fi, a code, and a website or system to access our examinations. This was something new for us, and it was interesting to see how technology can be used even without a regular internet connection.
We then tried a mock exam to test how the system works. This was where the exciting part started because we found out that we were being monitored during the exam. Sir Baroro could track if we tried to open another website or did something that was not allowed. It was a little nerve-wracking because the system could detect our actions, but at the same time, it was interesting to experience how the monitoring works.
For us, this activity was a good experience because it showed us that ICT can be useful in making examinations more organized and fair. It also reminded us to be honest and focused when taking exams. Even though it was only a mock exam, it helped us understand what to expect in our future assessments. In the end, we enjoyed the activity because we were not only learning about ICT but also experiencing how it can be applied in our actual class.
